Wormhole: The Natural Time Machine

By Katherine Lightwood

What happens when you have two black holes, quantum particles and a hell lot of gravity, all in one place? Its traversable wormhole aka the natural time machines. So, you might all be familiar with how a wormhole works.

Let’s take a piece of paper and draw two circles on it. And let’s suppose these circles represent two planets in space that you want to travel between really quickly. If you fold the space in half (here space represents our paper), you can get the two points or planets to connect.

This is the idea behind how a wormhole works and possibly time travel. But that’s not easy my friends, it’s quite difficult to do in reality. So, for that to exist we need huge warping of space and time, which is really hard for us to do.
But for black holes… it’s easy peasy!!

With Einstein’s theory came, the idea that if there are two black holes, they could be could be connected through as wormholes also known as Einstein- Rosen Bridge. And let me tell you wormhole wouldn’t be traversable because it would be too unstable to remain open.

It would require a lot of Quantum negative energy to counteract the immense gravity from the black hole. It’s really complicated and oh boy, do not get me started on this. And I will talk about this in another blog.

Up until now, scientists thought that nothing came out of the black hole, but something is known as Hawking radiation (that has been predicted by Late Stephen Hawking himself) to be emitted from those black holes.
Hawking’s radiation theory states that black holes are not eternal and they will slowly be going to emit more and more of their matter until they evaporate out of their existence.

Except…If this Hawking’s radiation leaves this one black hole, it could end up spawning another, which could cause these two black holes to become entangled. Now, entanglement, black hole!! You might be wondering what the freaky business is going on here. And let me tell you, nerds…It’s the birth of the ‘Wormhole’…!!

So, there you go, a recipe of your own TIME MACHINE…!!
Becoming entangled just means they have a connection. And they share the same quantum particles.

Quantum Mechanics says that if two black holes are quantum entangled, there may be a wormhole that connects them together. And if it is true then any particles that fall into one of the black holes can, in theory, come out of the other thus forming a bridge.

So, that was my thought of the day. To see more posts like this make sure to visit our main page. And Do not forget to visit our institute's page to know more about graphic design, 3D, animation courses and other awesome stuff. Till then good day to you.
