Run Away By Katherine Lightwood
Run Away
By Katherine Lightwood
Wish I could run through that gloomy forest, filled with the pine cone trees,
Follow through the lonesome trail, through which traveled that sweet breeze.
I want to run, run so far, from all the worldly chaos that deafens my soul,
What is in this chaotic world, O wanderer! seems like it's a fortress of coal.
Staying in this toxic land, I dreamt of a place and it was like a fairy tale,
Land of dream it is, where only ships of love and compassion sail.
But I saw it in my dream, and it was only a dream, far from the real world,
Woke up from this senseless dream, found myself in the floor shrouded and curled.
I was so desperate to find that place, where in this world could it be?
Would I ever live that long enough, that my weak eyes could ever see?
I claim myself to be a wanderer of forgotten dreams that I once lived.
Thought I was a conqueror of those visions, though it was not the truth that I believed.
Now, again after eons of time, I think I saw the shadow of my dream.
But, I still am quite skeptical of these visions, even though I will go to all extreme.
I will run away again, breaking through all the iron chains that kept me bound,
No demon or monster can summon me now, I can even crack the ground.
Nothing can stop me now, to run away, to get lost, to wander in my dreamy forest,
And that's what a wanderer do to live and get lost, and that's my goal, to be honest.
I am feeling very out of place lately, and what could be more relieving than getting lost in the realms of your mind palace. This is the most beautiful place one could ever go to. This is your realm, go and get lost in the unique vastness of your mind. Here, no one will vilify you. It's peaceful and very far from this world, you're living in.
