A JOLLY CHRISTMAS OF MY CHILDHOOD
By: Surbhi Mittal
Christmas is celebrated annually all across the world by everyone especially by the Christians because it is the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ, who is believed as Son of God. That’s why this is a very important festival for them. It’s a cultural holiday enjoyed by everyone. It is celebrated every year on the 25th December. There is a big tradition of distributing gifts at midnight of Christmas Eve by the Santa to everyone in the family member, especially children. Children eagerly wait for their gift which Santa bring for them. They ask their parents when would Santa come and they wait for all night long for this miracle to happen. People do a lot of preparation to decorate their home and church before Christmas Eve. On this day people give gifts, Christmas card, chocolate, sweets, Christmas tree and many things to their family, friends & relatives.
During my childhood days at Christmas Eve, every night at 12 pm a man who wore a red colored coat with white furry outline dress with a red cap on his head. Holding a bell in one hand and on another hand, a bunch of gifts. Wearing specs and singing Christmas carols like “ Jingle
bells, jingle bells, jingle bell all the way” and then I asked my Mamma who is
he. She said to me he is Santa Claus. And whenever Santa comes in my street, the street gets filled with sounds of drums and some person walks behind the Santa Claus wishing "Merry Christmas" and singing a song. Santa started to distributing gifts whenever he saw children. I always got chocolate from Santa Claus.
Now, as Christmas is coming and my excitement for this festival is getting so high and because that excitement I decided to make a Christmas card. When
I was making this card I completely got lost on my past days of Christmas.
Firstly, I started Adobe Photoshop in my laptop and opened a document of 4731 Pixel by 2957 Pixel. I took a red background and started drawing a rectangle of white color and outlined it. Then wrote Christmas in a way so that it could show as if it is hanging. Then, I used a texture and PNG image of Santa and Deer and wrote the best wish for Christmas.
Then, used the above image and started with layer masking of this card on that image. Then I used the color
lookup tool for the final look of this card. That’s how I
made this Christmas card for our lovely festival. I hope readers will enjoy my posts, and comments are always welcome.
So that's all for now, time to sign out.
Thank you
And this card is for you taking your precious time
