DELHI IN SMOG by Ganesh Yadav
Hello World !! This is my first blog. Before telling you about my work I would like to say a few things about me. My name is GANESH YADAV. I am a Delhi based Graphic Designer and I've done my Bachelors in Computer Science from Indira Gandhi National Open University. I've always liked graphic designing and VFX since my school days. During my graduation, I was learning the technicality of graphic designing from Youtube videos. But with the help of Youtube videos, I only could learn limited things and it did not fulfill my requirements for becoming a good designer. That’s why, after completing my graduation I joined ARENA ANIMATION Malviya Nagar New Delhi to upgrade my skills in graphic designing.
Here, in ARENA ANIMATION I
learnt how to handle software and their tools related to graphic designs.
Here, my first software was Adobe Photoshop Creative Suite 6.
Initially, I've learned the basics of graphic designing and Adobe Photoshop CS6 then how to use tools, what are the
uses and functions of those tools. They started by giving small assignments.
Then, I thought to make something that could show how SMOG has affected Delhi and its people. The whole city got covered in SMOG. In my concept, I tried to show that only one monument was left in the city, and a man is hiding in the cave and watching the monument from there. This thought came into my mind because Delhi was badly affected by SMOG. The term SMOG is a combination of two terms: Smoke and Fog. And when these two combine together which leads to SMOG.
Due to SMOG, the air gets polluted. The quality of the air was poor. The level of pollutants (PM 2.5) was also very high which is very dangerous for human lives. The numbers of asthma patients were increasing exponentially. The SMOG also affected visibility. In some places, the visibility was less than 100 meter. And the scene near the Yamuna Expressway was frightening, where 24 vehicles hit one another at the same time.
It was very difficult for me to make a Matte painting which could show the bad effects of SMOG, and the picture I have made related to Smog’s side effect. I went through many search engines to find the images that would fit in my frame but I found nothing special. As I am not a professional photographer so that task became more challenging. After many efforts, I finally got what I wanted. And then I completed my Matte Painting which was showing harmful effects of SMOG and the man sitting at the cave was watching the only visible monument in the city.
So that's all for now, time to sign out.
