How I celebrated Republic Day By Roshni Rao

How I celebrated Republic Day

By Roshni Rao

Hi there!! It's Roshni here!! How are you all? Hopefully fine. I know, I know I've been so late that I haven't posted anything.

And I also have missed my deadline for the post too. But I was so bound to my Job and classes that I didn't even get time to think about this post. Then at the weekend, our manager reminded me of the post I was missing. And how could I say no to him? He is working so hard for this blog. So, here I am, with a couple of hours in my hand to spend it on this blog.
So, From this blog, as you might have noticed that it will be something about Patriotism and stuff. Yeah, you've guessed right, a couple of days ago we celebrated our Republic Day and it was really fun. If you ask about its significance then let me tell you a bit of backstory about it.

As India has got its freedom from British colonial rule on 15th August 1947, since then up to 26 January 1950 there was no book of rules or "constitution" that time so that we could govern our country by our own rules. So, up to these three years, there were no rules of our own. India was governed by those old colonial rules made by Britishers. Even after three years after Independence, India was ruled by viceroy Lord Mountbatten until the Constitution was made. On 26 January 1950, the constitution came to power.
So, that was the backstory about our Republic Day and now you might have got an idea about this national festival of ours.

If you are wondering what I've done that day, then well let me tell you I partied a lot as usual.

At first, I went to see the carnival at India gate with my friends. After this, I went to the mall with all of them and one of my friends threw a party for all of us. We enjoyed a lot till late in the evening and then I returned home. The whole day was so awesome. I loved it. Before going to sleep I remembered that how lucky we are that we can live like this now. Before approximately 70 years we didn't have any voice, we were treated like dogs in our own country. Now, we can live with dignity and respect and all the credit goes to our devoted freedom fighters.

That was my thoughts for the Republic Day that passed. I know I am quite late for my post and I am truly sorry for that. Ok guys, till then bye, it's time for me to "sign out" from Digital DecatronYou can follow us on Facebook to see further info.
