True Meaning of Independence

By Nandan Negi

What's up, everyone!! How are you all doing?? It's been really long that I haven't written at all.

What can I say the procrastination is eating me up. I am feeling very helpless. Lately, we all were really busy about the competition that was held by "Wacom". But I didn't take part in it. I had already lots of pending work to do and I haven't got any time to make an artwork about such a complex topic. "Futuristic City in 2050"..are you kidding me, seriously, who has that god damn idea about such thing. I ain't got any time for that seriously!! So, I didn't give a damn about that.

And now back to the business, shall we? Few of our colleagues have been quite late about posting their blog as you've might have known by now. And one of them is me, so obviously I had to post it now. Well!! To be fair, it's not a very big deal, but get's me in quite a bit anxious mode.
Well! Honestly, I didn't know much about the importance of freedom until I saw a movie of Anne Frank.
Even though it was not at all related to the Indian freedom struggle at all but it was something that made me understand the need for freedom. The way Nazi enslaved the Jews and captured them in the concentration camps were never wreaking to watch. Enslavement is really a terrible curse, it not only affects our lives it also affects our thoughts. It cripples our way to think straight. So, it's bad very bad.
As I saw that movie a shiver ran down my spine. I started to imagine the plight of the people living in that pre Independence Era. We are so much luck that we are living in this beautiful time when there is no one to interrupt in our work and way of thinking.

And still, we are unable to flourish ourselves even after getting so many facilities and freedom.

Looks like we still have some loopholes in our mind which don't let us think independently. We need to break that barrier so that we could flourish and take our country to great heights. Then only we can be truly independent.

Nowadays, all I am seeing is the term independence has been quite overused. It's becoming a clique and slowly losing its meaning. People think that independence is another word for anarchy, but if you look at its core then you can see that it's a mere antonym.

Independence is about creating harmony and balance in the society that you live in. Independence is about respecting yourself and your neighbours. And that's what I am hyped about. And that's it my friends.

That was my thoughts for the Republic Day that passed. I know I am quite late for my post and I am truly sorry for that. Ok guys, till then bye, it's time for me to "sign out" from Digital Decatron. You can follow us on Facebook to see further info.
