My Most Memorable Holi By Nikhil Medar
My Most Memorable Holi
By Nikhil Medar
Hey, world!! What's up!!
I've recently read Rahul's Post. He seems like he has been quite upset about the assignments and works. I pity him but is no shortcut for hard work. We have to work if we want to sharpen our skills. All our colleagues are getting so hyped about Holi which is great. But I am also stuck in bedlem of work which took all my chances of enjoying this color festival. But it seems like memories are enough to live a blissful life even though your life is getting more and more cranky at this moment.
It was about a year, spring was at its peak. I was standing on my terrace when my roommate poked me on the shoulder. Startled I turned around and saw a confused grin on his face. I knew something was fishy.
Then he said,"Man, look it's such a beautiful day and it's a holiday too, why are we stuck in a small room when we are supposed to explore the world."
"What do you mean 'explore the world'?" I said.
"Well!! My friend, I am suggesting you that we should go on a trip somewhere nearby, what do you say? It will be fun come'on" He said.
It was actually a very nice idea and I agreed with him. We both packed our bags while my roommate booked tickets for Mathura (an ancient Indian city). I also invited another friend of mine in this sudden trip. With heavily packed bag and a drifted mind me and my friends headed out while the cool breeze of March morning was blowing into our faces.
After a few hours of a train ride, we reached the auspicious city of Mathura. The whole surrounding had a very unique mood, it was very blissful and lively at the same time. It looked like the whole place is so harmonized even if there was a hue of odd chaos surrounding everything. There was splash of colors over every building, streets, and road and it seems like the whole town is drenched in the essence of Holi.
The fragrance of dhoop and incense stick filled our noses making me so nostalgic. I was walking through the narrow streets of Mathura to capture some of the priceless moments of this beautiful festival of colors in the camera. But I was perplexed by everything that was surrounding me and that was breathtakingly beautiful.
In the meantime, my friends suggested me to visit Banke Bihari Temple. So after we went there, I saw a mesmerizing view. Men, women, children all are playing Holi in the courtyard of that beautiful temple and I thought this shot is worth taking. Then, I took out my camera and tried to capture all the moments that were attractive. After we took a few random pictures and had our lunch, we thought to end our trip here. It was getting dark, all the chaos that was sparking in the daytime seemed to fade now. There was an ultimate peace all over that place which made me believe that there might be some divine blessing over this place.
We took the train back to Delhi and after returning home I fall straight into bed. My every body part was hurting like hell because of all that journey and exploring, but the memories I captured was enough for the lifetime and that was the best Holi I had celebrated in my life till now. And my friend that was a travelogue that I have shared with you all and hope you've enjoyed it.
So, till then my friends Happy Holi to all of you from me and all my colleagues of Decatron family.
